Just Clouds!
19. April 2009 by David.

I love taking pictures of clouds, I don’t necessarily look for meaning or to see if they resemble something. I just think they’re beautiful. Last year I photographed one that looked like a box. My brother thought I was a little nuts, though he didn’t put it quite that way. My brother and sisters tend to understand. Thank you!
On the other hand the first one looks like an eyebrow and might come in handy with a project I have to do for my art class. Anyone seen a cloud that looks like a nose??

Bugs and Foxtails
19. April 2009 by David.

If you ever try to take a picture of a bug on a foxtail let me give you some advice. Wear socks you either don’t mind spending 15 minutes picking foxtails out of or you don’t mind throwing out. It’s also not a good idea to lay down on the ground, foxtails are very friendly and like to stick close to their new friends .

Nails
17. April 2009 by Friedhelm.
I photographed a single nail, isolated it from the background and used many layers to create this image.
Enjoy!

Austrian Alps
16. April 2009 by Friedhelm.
The Austrian Alps look very lush and green in comparison to the Sierra Nevada here in California. The reason is naturally more precipitation. Both mountain ranges are beautiful and I do not know which one I like more.
Enjoy and happy shooting!

Expression of feelings
15. April 2009 by Friedhelm.
I was at a shopping center waiting for my wife. Of course I took a few pictures of spring flowers when a security guard told me that I was not allowed to photograph store fronts etc. I felt pushed around despite I realized that the man was just doing his job. After he left I took this picture. It expressed my feelings. The flower became an ancient dinosaur head just about ready to eat some enemy.
Photography is expression of feelings. Happy shooting!

Cacti
14. April 2009 by Friedhelm.
The plural of cactus is indeed cacti. I photographed these beauties at the cacti garden at Stanford University.
Enjoy!

Orchid
13. April 2009 by Friedhelm.
I discovered this beautiful Orchid in a shopping mall today. Since I did not want to get people of the store front into the image, I shot from the bottom up towards the sky.
Happy photographing!

Not much longer!
12. April 2009 by David.

Just a reminder that wildflower season is beginning to wain. Better get out there soon. For real color the foothills will last longer than the valley once it starts to warm up.
OR… take some photos of your beautiful garden or even your weed patch. No garden, ask a neighbor, give them a copy of the photo and you may get some home baked cookies! At least you’ll get a big thank you and a smile.

Tilting Wheel?
12. April 2009 by David.

Here’s another photo of mining equipment I saw on my South Merced River treck. I left this one in color to bring out the bits of moss.

Good end, good day!
11. April 2009 by David.
Had a real good day today, bought several things on sale and even had convenient parking. Thought I’d share how it ended, well at 8:00 anyway!
