Chowchilla’s Water Tower

blogchowchilla-water-tower.jpg

I took several pictures of this water tower. It was tough getting an angle without power lines and with the sunset. I decided to go with more of a silhouette using a relative short exposure of 1/80 of a second at F10. The water tower isn’t that pretty, and I felt that a detailed photo would actually detract from the end result..

Sorry, the blog photo is coming out darker than the original.

Chowchilla Golf Course

photoblog-day-129.jpg

Many weddings and portraits were photographed at the lake and David and I decided to photograph it. For us the lake became subject not background. This is one of the most important consideration for any composition. What is your subject and what is your background? What design technique to you use to make that clear in your art work? The Hungarian photographer Martin Munkacsi always said: “Think while you shoot!”

Happy photographing and thinking?
