Playing with fire
17. September 2009 by Friedhelm.
The theme for next month in the Chowchilla Photoclub is “Candles.” I wanted to create more than just putting a candle in front of the camera. First I added a glass with water and blue food color. I used a white light to create some reflection in the glass. Normally candle light burns pretty steady and I wanted a wild flame. In my first test shots I created s small draft. I took some more test shots and still was not satisfied. Since the lens was stopped down to f22 I decided to try something totally different. I extinct the candle light, set the camera on a timer and used a gas lighter to paint the flame.
Enjoy!
