From head to toe
27. November 2009 by Friedhelm.
I love to photograph newborns. Since it is not a good idea to photograph a newborn with a flash I ask the mother to sit close to a large window. I used my 85mm portrait lens which naturally has a relatively narrow depth of field. The composition is a little bit difficult. Naturally the eye wander towards the face of any human subject and especially to babies. I wanted to put the emphasis on the little feet. Therefore I blurred the head out and photographed the foot in focus. The hand of the mother in between which is less blurred than the head gives the image an even stronger 3d feeling.
Enjoy!
