Moravian Star

photoblog-day-243.jpg

My in-laws gave us this Moravian star which hangs in front of our house during the Christmas season. The star was originally used in a German classroom as a mathematical exercise and then used in the churches as a symbol for Christmas. It is still used today and I photographed it in German churches during my last two Christmas visits in 2006/2007. To photograph the star I used an old 200mm Vivitar prime lens which I purchased for around $20.00 on Ebay. This lens is probably 30 years old and produces incredible sharp images.

Enjoy and go out and photograph!
