The Old Way
1. July 2010 by David.
Almost all of Mission San Juan Batista is authentic. If not the original, a faithful restoration.
I found the roof structure’s lines interesting and the almost white space of the wall a good compliment, especially with the leather straps intruding into the wall space.. Changing it to black and white added to the feeling of age. The leather straps used to hold the roof together and the beam turned on edge interested the carpenter in me. However, I left the fluorescent light fixture in to add a little juxtaposition between the old and new.
