Trunk of a Bristlecone Pine

These trees already look amazingĀ  from a distance but they are absolutely stunning when you stand right in front of them. Try to determine their age by counting the annual rings in the bark. Consider their size when Rome was founded or Columbus discovered America. One thing I know for sure. I will have to come back even it is a bout six hours to drive from my home to get there.
