A Promise of Yum

The peach tree in my back yard is blooming.

promise-of-yum-4280.jpg

Last year I had some great peaches, this will be the trees 3rd year and I even pruned it this year. Looking for a bountiful harvest.

If you look closely at the top of the bloom you can see a little morning dew.  Hope you have a bountiful year.

Blossoms

photoblog-day-824.jpg

I used a 50mm lens at f1.4 to create this image. Wide open lenses give you a narrow depth of field and you are able to create very interesting images by emphasizing you subject and blurring the background.

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Fallen Oak Tree

photoblog-day-823.jpg

I photographed this Oak tree outside Mariposa, CA. It was an overcast day providing excellent light conditions. I used NIK Silver Efix pro to convert the image into black and white.

Silhouette at Sunset

Last weekend Friedhelm and I stopped at Lake Yosemite.

Even though it was still some time before sunset and it was quite bright I was able to get this silhouette of this tree against the lake and sky. Well, shooting at 1/2000 of a second at f8 does give you some creative options.

Tree Trunk

I overlooked the beauty of this tree many times. It is located in one of the parks in beautiful Carmel, CA.

Enjoy and have a great week-end!

Fall Colors

photoblog-day-750.jpg

This is another example of the beautiful Fall colors I encountered in Germany. I just got up early, took my camera and a 50mm prime lens and walked through the little village and the surrounding forest and came back with 400+ images that I am slowly working my way through.

Young Trees In Merced County

photoblog-day-748.jpg

Last night I encountered fog on my way home. I decided to get out early and photograph trees around sunrise and in the early morning fog.

Enjoy and happy photographing!
